I have had acne-prone oily skin my whole life that has become very dry since I began taking Spironolactone and using tretinoin for hormonal acne due to perimenopause. It has been a fight to try to find a moisturizer that helps my now dry skin but doesn't contribute to breakouts. I've tried it all. A few years ago I found one with hemp seed oil in it that was like a miracle, and then it was discontinued. Ever since I've just been using pure hemp seed oil, but that's not enough in the winter when the humidity drops. I decided to add this moisturizer to my routine on a whim when no other moisturizers were working for me, and I'm so glad I did! I’ve used it three nights in a row now without any actives just to give my dry skin a chance to heal and the difference has been immediate and pretty astounding. Each morning I’ve woken up with noticeably hydrated skin and also healed skin, including the healing of some small blemishes. It seems to be contributing to healing blemishes vs. causing more. This is a similar experience to my old discontinued moisturizer, so I’m thrilled to have finally found something that agrees with my skin so well. Im going to start incorporating it into my morning routine, too, but my SPF also contains a high level of niacinamide so I wasn’t sure if it would be niacinamide overkill.
