MEGASHADE has a serum-like finish but its primary job is fighting UV rays and protecting your excellent face from the sun's harsh rays! It should be applied as your very last skincare step, after your serums and before makeup. However! Since it's packed with skincare ingredients that might appear in your day serums (Ferulic Acid, Niacinamide and more), MEGASHADE also doubles as a potent day serum that brightens and antioxidizes while being extremely friendly for acne-prone skin, so you may not even need your normal day serum :)

MEGASHADE is unlike classic beach bag sunscreens that are thick and leave a white cast—we formulated it for every day urban use, with active ingredients to boost your skincare routine. With that said, due to the presence of Octinoxate (7.5%), MEGASHADE cannot be considered reef-safe (we've formulated with Octinoxate as it blends seamlessly, lending a beautifully dewy finish).

Broad-spectrum covers both UVA and UVB rays (as opposed to just one). UVA protection works against the aging rays (let's just quickly note that aging is NOT a dirty word; and rather, a beautiful part of life!). UVB protection works against the burning rays. MEGASHADE deflects and blocks both types of rays for comprehensive sun protection.

Skin cancer is the most preventable form of cancer, and using a high quality broad-spectrum SPF is the key to that prevention. skincancer.org say, "The SPF number tells you how long the sun’s UV radiation would take to redden your skin when using the product exactly as directed versus the amount of time without any sunscreen. So ideally, with SPF 30 it would take you 30 times longer to burn than if you weren't wearing sunscreen." "An SPF 30 allows about 3 percent of UVB rays to hit your skin. An SPF of 50 allows about 2 percent of those rays through. That may seem like a small difference until you realize that the SPF 30 is allowing 50 percent more UV radiation onto your skin."
